The New Zealand Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Registry (NZFGCR) offers assessment, diagnosis and surveillance of inherited gastrointestinal cancer syndromes.
We are a Ministry of Health funded national service with offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Our multidisciplinary team consists of family history assessors, gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, oncologists and geneticists. The team provides education, information and support to families affected, including medical management advice and registration on a surveillance programme.
We are seeking expressions of interest for the Team Leader role in Auckland. The role of the Team Leader is to assess, coordinate and assign the case load for the team of Family History Assessors and also to act in a public relations capacity in communications with patients and referrers. The Team Leader would also manage a clinical case load which includes the ability to manage families in all risk categories for all syndromes.
People who are enthusiastic and have a health degree and experience in Clinical Genetics are encouraged to apply. Candidates with relevant experience include those who have worked within a genetic service or with people identified with cancer genetic disorders. Candidates will also be assessed on how well they would fit into and complement the existing team.
