The New Zealand Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Registry (NZFGCR) offers assessment, diagnosis and surveillance of inherited gastrointestinal cancer syndromes.
We are a Ministry of Health funded national service with offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Our multi-disciplinary team consists of family history assessors, gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, oncologists and geneticists. The team provides education, information and support to families affected, including medical management advice and registration on a surveillance programme.
As our service grows, we are seeking interest in 2 positions that we have available for permanent Family History Assessor roles for candidates with relevant experience. We have a position available at Auckland City Hospital and a position available at Wellington Hospital.
People who are enthusiastic and have a health degree or equivalent in Clinical Genetics or Nursing with previous oncology, gastroenterology, research or genetic experience are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will also be assessed on how well they would fit into, and complement, the existing team. They will receive on the job training which will be designed to augment their existing skills and develop their skills as a Family History Assessor.
